It’s here! Everybody has been waiting for it all year…. TAX TIME! It’s the time when many expect to see HUGE refunds for working throughout the year. But wait, what are your plans for that money? Are you planning on eliminating some debt, paying back money you borrowed, or shopping until you drop? All of these are alternatives but, have you thought about the best alternative, saving? If not, it should be a priority on your list. There is so much uncertainty going on in the world that we must do all we can to protect ourselves. If you have not already started saving, give yourself the peace of mind of knowing that you have something to fall back on. So, open a savings account and watch it grow. You will be thankful that you will have it in the event you may need it.

Happiness
-unknown
It is simple and easy to be happy. The hard part is convincing yourself, and getting past your own resistance to happiness. You might assume that just because things are one way or another, there is no possibility of happiness. Yet that assumption is entirely mistaken. You know precisely how to be happy, how to create the feeling of happiness within yourself and how to express it within any context. You've done it many times in a whole lot of different situations. Your happiness does not come from the moment, or the surroundings, or even from the people around you. It comes from you, and from your decision to feel its positive power. Go ahead and skip right over all those reasons why you can't be happy. Instead, think of the times when you have been happy and recall the strategy you've always used to bring that happiness to life. Activate that very same strategy right now. And bring the positive power of your own happiness to this very moment.

Keeping You Updated....and Aware
FEBRUARY IS NATIONAL HEART MONTH
February has been proclaimed as National Heart Month.
According to the American Heart Association (AHA), while heart disease and stroke kill one in every 3.7 men, one in 2.4 women lose their lives to heart disease and stroke – the no. 1 and no. 3 killers of women. By way of comparison, breast cancer kills one in 29 women.
The AHA is celebrating National Heart Month with a series of Go Red For Women events. The Go Red For Women campaign funds research around women and heart disease and stroke, and it aims to educate women so that they can lead longer, healthier lives.
Go Red For Women uses the color red and the red dress as a symbol of the ability all women have to improve their heart health and live stronger, longer lives, the AHA said.
The campaign began in February 2004 and has grown into a national movement as more women, men, celebrities, healthcare professionals and politicians have joined movement to promote education about heart disease.
The movement gives women tips and information on healthy eating, exercise and risk factor reduction, such as smoking cessation, weight maintenance, blood pressure control and blood cholesterol management.
To sign up for the Go Red For Women program by visit http://www.americanheart.org/ or call 1-888-MY-HEART to receive educational information and a red dress pin.

Clearly and Precisely
By: Unknown
If you're not getting what you want from life, chances are it's because you have not defined your objectives clearly enough. When you can clearly and precisely articulate what you seek to create, you're well on your way to creating it and it will indeed come to be.
Whatever advantages or disadvantages you may have, you absolutely have the means and the ability to experience the life you wish to experience. To utilize the power of that ability, though, you must be completely clear about where to direct it.
Think about it, and you'll realize that you are extremely well equipped and intended for achievement. Since the moment you were born, you have found a way to get your way.
However, when you're vague or inconsistent about where you want to go, you won't go much of anywhere. An absolutely essential part of success is precisely defining what that success is.
Go beyond merely wishing for something better. Figure out exactly what that something looks like, what it feels like, and how it will impact your life.
Forget about what you don't want, and get completely clear about what you do want. Then you'll discover that you are indeed able to make it happen.
Love’s Hidden Enemy
Read | 1 Corinthians 13:9-13
The apostle Paul wrote that he once reasoned like a child, but he had now put childish ways behind him (1 Cor. 13:11). He was referring to the spiritual maturity process, whereby a believer’s self-centered ideas are replaced by a healthier perspective.
But maturation is just that—a process—so some immature thinking may linger with the Christian. Based on our childhood experiences, we may wrongly believe . . .
• Lie #1—God’s love for us depends on how good we are. We act as if our behavior can positively or negatively impact His affection for us. But Scripture tells us that the Lord’s love is constant; it never varies.
• Lie #2—Acceptance by others has to do with performance, not who we are. With this mindset, we constantly try to please other people. But we can rest in the truth that God has adopted every believer into His family; we are fully accepted.
• Lie #3—Our security rests in social status, material things, or some other worldly prize.
This leads to anxiety and manipulation as we attempt to acquire what we lack. The truth is, we’ll experience peace when we realize Christ is our true source of security.
These erroneous ideas represent a “hidden enemy of love,” because godly affection can’t flourish with immature attitudes. We must replace such beliefs with biblical truth.
Paul calls us to move toward maturity in our thinking and behavior. Clinging to immature ways can interfere with our sense of peace, security, and joy. But knowing the truth about God’s acceptance and recognizing that our security is in Him alone will lead to relationships characterized by His love.

Who Am I?
Have you ever found yourself asking, Who am I? If not, this question should entice every individual to consider their existence, where they derived, and what constitutes their purpose. During the month of February we traditionally reach back into time to reflect upon generations of people who have made incredible strides towards excellence. We can use their accomplishments and triumphs as illustrations of commitment, determination, ambition, scholastic achievement, and confidence.
Susan L. Taylor says that "Whatever we believe about ourselves and our ability comes true for us." To grasp this understanding would truly unveil the talents, intellect, and limitless capabilities of all women. Knowing who you are means recognizing your strengths and tackling opportunities that will allow you to incessantly evolve into what you are truly meant to be. Be aware that in discovering who you are will include stumbling, falling faint and even questioning your purpose.
However, being unsure, growing weary and sometimes failing are the components of life that humble our spirits and create a balance that reminds us we don't have to be perfect. Yet, overcoming your fears and your challenges is what builds character and in essence will in part define who you are. Ephesians 6:10-12 tells us to "Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." Therefore, in knowing who you are, and who's you are, also know that you will never stand alone. In close, Ralph Ellison once said, "When I discover who I am, then I'll be free."

A little Inspiration...
"Beloved, let us love one an-other: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God and knoweth God ... Be-loved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us." ~1 John 4:7, 11-12~

Self-Image Evaluation
Happy February to all of you! I hope that your year has been positive and productive as you hope it would be thus far. I wanted to take a minute to talk with you about positive self-image. Media and publications portray so many beautiful ladies as mere images that only function for their beauty. I understand that most women have ambition, goals, and intelligence. However, some get lost in someone else's image and forget who the are. Don't let trying to be perfect in someone else's image cause you to forget who you are. You can ALWAYS upgrade material items, but NEVER downgrade your morals, self respect, and positive self image. Remember I am you, you are me and we are representations of SSE.
